Do you believe in Angels?

by Susan Syme

Sitting silently in my garden,
I hear a name and I said: “Pardon?”
I listened hard but heard no more.
Did I just see what I just saw?
I felt a breeze upon my face,
A softness just like silk or lace,
I smelt a scent like fresh cut flowers,
I felt I could stay for many hours,
I felt at peace in many ways,
I could have stayed for many days,
My mind was dreaming of an Angel’s touch,
I prayed and prayed, I prayed so much.
Do you believe in Angels?  I know I really do,
I close my eyes and listen hard,
I hear them call me Sue,
The dark is now descending,
Everything so quiet,
Goodbye my Angels, please
Protect my love ones and me tonight...

What is a development circle?

by Marilyn Taylor

It is best for you to develop mediumship with a group of people, under the guidance of a qualified teacher.  A group of people who meet regularly for the purpose of developing mediumship is known as a spirit circle or development circle.  I shall refer to such a group simply as a circle.  It is called a circle because people sit in a circular fashion.

There are several reasons why sitting with a group is helpful in developing your mediumship:

 - It creates a common ground with others, from which you can find nurturing and stability.

 - It offers you the opportunity to share your experiences with others.

 - It helps create discipline in your work.

 - It offers you the opportunity to assist in the development of others’ mediumship, while working with your own.

 - It offers a good support group.

 - It offers the assistance of a teacher who can guide you in your development.

If you want to develop your mediumship, ask among your friends to see if anyone knows of a development circle locally.  If you come up with a blank, contact your local Spiritualist church to see if they have one (click here for a list of churches).  Once you make contact with a circle you will meet like-minded people and, even if the circle you join is not the right one for you, you will be pointed in the direction of others.

Do fairies exist?

By Wendy Stokes

Asking questions!  Do fairies really exist?  Yes, indeed they do!

Fairies are nature spirits, like elves, brownies, gnomes and pixies. They live in trees, wells, valleys and mountains and in wild, uninhabited places.

These spirits are very different from human beings and should not be contacted intentionally.  They do not seek human company and they don’t like to be disturbed by our energies.  When humans even talk about fairies, these beings are troubled, so if you have to speak about them, whisper, and refer to them respectfully as “the Fair Folk”.

They see us as affecting their environment and their health and unless we break through into their faery realm they do not harm us.

In ancient times, many people had the ability to see these extraordinary spirits.  Now, people from the Celtic lands of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Cornwall sometimes report seeing them.  Like angels, which also exist, fairies are also rarely seen and their voices are rarely heard these days.

If you sit very still and quieten your mind through meditation, you might gain contact with them.  During contact, the human sense of time changes, either the time will go past extremely quickly, or extremely slowly.

The word ‘fairy’ comes from the Latin word ‘fata’ meaning fate.  Our own fate and the fate of our planet are dependent on the care we give to these nature spirits so we should protect their health and habitat by leaving a small offering of fruit, grain or nuts and be sure to leave their domain clean of human pollutions, such as broken glass, plastics and tins.

The heart of the matter

by Marilyn Taylor

Neurophysicists have been astonished to discover that the heart is more an organ of intelligence, than (merely) the body’s main pumping station. More than half of the heart is actually composed of neurons of the very same nature as those that make up the cerebral system.  Joseph Chilton-Pearce, author of The Biology of Transcendence, calls it ‘the major biological apparatus within us and the seat ... of our greatest intelligence.’

The heart is also the source of the body’s strongest electromagnetic field.  Each heart cell is unique in that it not only pulsates in synchrony with all the other heart cells, but also produces an electromagnetic signal that radiates out beyond the cell.  An EEG that measures brain waves shows that the electromagnetic signals from the heart are so much stronger than brain waves, that a reading of the heart’s frequency spectrum can be taken from three feet away from the body ... without placing electrodes on it!

The heart’s electromagnetic frequency arcs out from the heart and back in the form of a torus field.  The axis of this heart torus extends from the pelvic floor to the top of the skull and the whole field is holographic, meaning that information about it can be read from each and every point in the torus.

The heart’s torus electromagnetic field is not the only source that emits this type of electromagnetic field.  Every atom emits the same torus field. The earth is also at the center of a torus, so is the solar system and even our galaxy ... and all are holographic.  Scientists believe there is a good possibility that there is only one universal torus encompassing an infinite number of interacting, holographic tori within its spectrum. Because electromagnetic torus fields are holographic, it is more than likely that the sum total of our universe is present within the frequency spectrum of a single torus.

This means that each one of us is connected to the entire universe and as such, can access all the information within it at any given moment. When we get quiet and access what we hold in our hearts, we are literally connecting to the limitless supply and wisdom of the universe, thereby enabling what we perceive as ‘miracles’ to enter into our lives.

When we disconnect and shut down the heart’s innate wisdom of love-based thinking, the ego-based intellect takes over and operates independently of the heart and we revert to a survival mentality based on fear, greed, power, and control.  In this way, we come to believe that we are separate, our perception of life shifts into one of limitation and scarcity and one in which we must fight in order to survive.  This amazing organ that we often time ignore, neglect and build walls around, is where we can find our strength, our faith, our courage and our compassion, enabling our higher emotional intelligence that can, if we allow it, guide us through our lives.

heartWe must now switch the gears out of the fear-based mental state that we have been taught to believe in and move into heart centered living.  For this transformation to take place, one must learn to meditate, ‘go into your heart’ and access the inner wisdom of the universe.  It is the only way; it is THE WAY.  As each one of us begins this quiet revolution of living from the heart, we will begin to see it reflected in our lives and in our world.  This is how each one of us will create change in the world, create peace, create harmony and balance, and in this way will we all create the New World Paradigm of Heaven on Earth.

What happens in Heaven when we pray?

Author unknown

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around.  We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.  My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said: “This is the Receiving Section.  Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.”

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me: “This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.  Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.”  I noticed again how busy it was there.  There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station.  To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing.  “This is the Acknowledgment Section,” my angel friend quietly admitted to me.  He seemed embarrassed.

“How is it that there is no work going on here?” I asked.

“So sad,” the angel sighed.  “After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.”

“How does one acknowledge God’s blessings?” I asked.

“Simple,” the angel answered.  “Just say: ‘Thank you, Lord’.”

“What blessings should they acknowledge?” I asked.

“If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world,” said the angel.  “If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

“And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.

“If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

“If you have never experienced the fear of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

“If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by and more blessed than three billion people in the world.

“If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare.

“If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair.”

Have a good day.  Count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

What is clairvoyance?

by Marilyn Taylor

I am always being asked what the difference is between different kinds of mediumship and I’d like to offer some guidance.

When we meet someone, for the first time or otherwise, we generally give him or her a look over, a visual analysis, so to speak.  From this visual image, we either know who it is or we create a visual memory image for future meetings.  When a medium links with a spirit communicator, the communicator generally prefers to be seen, thus giving the medium some visual image which can be related to the sitter.

This ability to perceive visually those in Spirit, as well as images which they may project, is known as clairvoyance.  From a more general perspective, clairvoyance is defined as the ability to see, with the inner vision, that which is not perceived by the physical eyes.  This can include perception of spirits, auras, energy fields, visions, etc.  Since we are dealing specifically with mediumship, we shall limit our discussion of clairvoyance to seeing the spirits.

A question which naturally arises is: how does the medium actually see what he or she sees?  To understand this, it is important to accept that, when a medium attunes with spirit, his or her state of consciousness alters.  The mind of the medium, thus the focus of consciousness, shifts away from the three dimensional Earth plane to the realms of the spirit world.  Once this shift of consciousness takes place, it is no longer the physical eyes which see, even though, from the perspective of the medium, it looks as if he or she is observing with these eyes (especially if the medium’s eyes are open).  Clairvoyance involves stimulation of the inner vision.

The impression that the medium exerts no influence upon a communication is a fallacy based upon the need for many mediums to prove that they are, in fact, channels.  This fallacy must be put to rest. Mediumship, when used to relay information, is a form of mental communication.  Regardless of the degree of control, the consciousness of the medium is involved, to some degree, in the communicative process, even if on a subconscious level.

Mediums are not like gramophone records; they are living beings with brain and mind governed by life-long habits.  Every person’s mind is full of tendencies, capacities, desires, ideas and habits.  These are so vital that, in the main, they govern the way in which the individual thinks and behaves.

All controlling entities desirous of transmitting philosophical, religious and spiritual ideas through a medium find themselves as much under the control of the medium as the medium is under theirs.  The consequence is, if the medium is ignorant and his mind untrained to serious thinking, the less successful will the speech be.  The reverse is also true.  An educated medium with a well-trained mind will, with few exceptions, produce better results.

Some will argue with the last portion of this statement.  Many mediums feel that the less they know about mediumship, the less influence they will exert upon the communication.  Perhaps there is some justification to this belief, but it is our feeling that, in the long run, a medium who is well versed in the various aspects of mediumship and channelling is by far more helpful to those in Spirit than an uninformed one.

Introduction to Astrology

By Lynne Carter

Part 6

Venus, the goddess of love, art and beauty.  Taking this into consideration it’s hard to believe how harsh the environment the planet is.  The surface has volcanoes that expel sulphur dioxide, blocking out the sun’s light to the surface but making the planet luminous from the outside.  This returns to the surface as rain of undiluted sulphuric acid.

The ground temperature is around 465 degrees Celsius.   This can be interpreted as an all consuming love or the greatest pain can be suffered or endured because of love.  Venus can be seen by the naked eye, it is known as the morning or evening star.  Its metal is copper and has a 42 day period of retrogration.  When Venus changes direction this can slow down any activities linked to the houses Venus rules and relationship issues can be put on hold.  Venus rules the signs of Taurus and Libra.  Venus like The Sun and Mercury takes about a year to circumnavigate the chart.

If you have Venus in your sign:

Venus in Aries can be forthright in its expression to the point of being aggressive.  In a woman’s chart she is likely to do the chasing and can be competitive in seeking the affections of others.  On the other hand there can be great drive and enthusiasm placed in creative pursuits.  Music is also related to Venus in this sign; this can give rise to a great deal of practice to perfect a talent.

Venus in Taurus is in one of the signs it rules.  Here emotional security is important.  Love, good food and comfort are some of its traits.  Taurus rules the throat and Venus is linked to the arts and this placement usually bestows a good singing voice.  Taurus is an earth sign and with Venus connected to beauty, this beauty will usually manifest in the creation of a beautiful garden.

With Venus in Gemini can bring about someone who has a manic social life, maybe multiple romances.  There may be disinclined to settle down, they just want to be friends with everyone, but are capable of sustained devotion.

There is a strong emotional sensitivity with Venus in Cancer.  Domestic stability is a high priority with this placement, they will enjoy cooking and placing their organisational skills into running a home.  Men with this placement can mother their families and children.

There is emotional pride at work here, along with hope of climbing the social ladder.  People with this placement will have ardent fixed affection and can be theatrical in their behaviour and like to be in the spotlight.  They enjoy social gatherings but can wish to be the centre of attention.  Remember the sit com Keeping up Appearances?  Hyacinth Bucket is a typical example of Venus in Leo.

This is not an easy placement to live with.  This sign can make people over-critical with those they love.  They can spend too much time analysing their emotions to the point where they cut off any spontaneity.  They look for perfection in relationships, and find it hard to except that nobody is perfect, but they still keep trying and can ruin a lot potential along the way.   Their artistic talents can be more on the intellectual side and they will seek company with those that can satisfy this need.

Venus in Libra shows a need for harmonious relationships.  Venus is well placed here as this is the other sign of its rulership.  In women this can bring about physical beauty and have many opportunities for marriage.  They have an ability to understand the feelings of others and a desire to please.  One problem that can arise is that they will try and juggle the needs of others before their own.  This can lead to their own needs being left to the point where their health starts to break down.

Venus is not well placed in this sign.  Emotions and passions run deep to the point where jealousy creeps in.  People with this placement can be secretive about their feelings.  They can have a psychic sensitivity to the feelings of others.  If an important relationship is severed it can never be reinstated on the old basis.

This is a sociable placement for Venus.  This sign produces a person who can be outspoken.  Their emotions and responses can be idealistic and spiritually oriented.  Traditional moral structures make them feel more secure in their emotional conduct.  They can have a lavish taste for art and décor and may have a liking for religious music.

To achieve emotional security people with Venus in Capricorn need material status.  They can marry above their station in life.  They conduct themselves with quiet personal dignity and refinement.  They bring to a relationship loyalty and steadfastness but they are not openly demonstrative.   If they are involved in the arts they will have a sense of composition and structure.  They can develop a business sense involving the arts, antique dealers, museum curators and gallery directors.

With Venus in Aquarius people want to be friends with everyone but not necessarily on a personal basis.  They are generally popular and well-liked and have many friends.  Romantic attractions are often sudden and can end as quickly as they start.  Intellectual stimulation is important to keep a relationship going and there may be a need to maintain a degree of freedom within a relationship if it is going to survive.

Venus in this sign manifests a deep compassion and sympathy verging on spirituality.  They make many sacrifices because of love and their love can extend to all creatures of the earth.  They understand the feelings of others and are quick to pick up the atmosphere around them.

In the next edition we will have a look a t the last of the personal planets, Mars, before passing through the asteroid belt to the bigger planets.

Red Cloud speaks

susan_devereInternational medium Susan Devere will be starting a series entitled ‘Red Cloud speaks’ later this year, and hopefully there will be a TV show of this remarkable man not only in life but since he went into spirit.

It was Red Cloud along with Estelle Roberts back in 1914 who started this whole movement, and as we are approaching one hundred years later, not only has this world changed but also the world of spirit has changed from viewing us as a species to helping mankind move forward.

Most of the spiritual knowledge from that time is greatly outdated, as there was very little science in our lives.  Man had only his radio - no aircraft flight and no television, so you can see we have come a long way.  Because of this, once again Red Cloud wishes to speak to the world as he once did, speaking on truths of all kinds and laying down peace for us to live our lives upon.

He has done so much for mankind and channels through many, but has chosen Susan Devere who follows on as his channel from Estelle.  Due to this, Susan has been working with him since she was a child.  No other medium or channel has Susan’s ability because of Red Cloud.
One hundred years ago Red Cloud was considered to be outstanding and not much has changed since then.

Susan will be doing a tour in the UK and will be going to Red Cloud’s homeland, the USA.

Susan is the only spirit medium in the UK to work with major governments of the world and one of the longest standing mediums of our time.

Our world is changing and so is spirit. So many question now need to be answer.  Red Cloud is the key to this.

The Susan Devere team can be contacted via 01279 726604.

Soul Connections

by Madam Jacqueline

Below I have consulted the cards on Soul Connections, remember that what I have written is a guide and it is up to the individual what they wish to do if they are in a relationship of any kind that you feel is a soul connection.

If you wish to stay within a Soul Connection relationship that pushes your buttons, there is always a way around the issues that show themselves to you.

Soul Connections can be very fulfilling but some can also very stressful at times.

Six of Bows – Abundance

We can meet many people over our life time and be able to relate to most of them.  But there are only a hand full we feel a special connection with.  We have what is known as a 'soul connection'.  This doesn’t necessary mean a love relationship; this can include friends and family as well.  The Six of Bows reminds us that all soul connections give us all the opportunity to grow within ourselves.

King of Vessels – Heron

The Heron stands alone but is content with this.

For humans we thrive when we have others around us.  Even if we feel alone, we never really are as we have our guides and our guardian angel to support us.  Whether we feel a soul connection to the people we meet or not – we should always consider others in our actions and spoken word.

Five of Stones – Endurance

It can take time to gravitate towards our soul mates.

We may come across them from school, college, work etc.  But when we do, we create a strong bond that can last a life time.  On the other side of the coin, some soul connections can be short lived and on occasions turbulent.  The turbulent soul connection shows you that you don’t have to stay friends or in a relationship - just because its a soul connection.  The choice is always in your own hands.

Nine of Bows – Respect

It takes courage to remove yourself from a destructive 'soul connection' relationship (which can include friends) but you always need to respect your own needs and life.  It’s learning from the experience and then letting go.

Find the lesson your soul connection wanted you to learn, to assist you to make sense of the relationship in the first place.

Nine of Stones – Tradition

Each time you connect with a soul mate, your progressing towards your enlighten path.

King of Arrows – Kingfisher

Moving towards enlightenment in this life time creates balance, calmness and the ability to adapt in your life.  Solutions will be found to each and every problem without the usual drama.

Seven of Vessels – Mourning

In love; soul connections can be amazing and you can feel as one.

But some connections will press your buttons and drive you crazy and it will be your choice to stay in that relationship or not.

We can also have amazing loving relationships which are not soul connected and meet our soul mates in other forms such as parents, friends and colleagues.

Six of Arrows – Transition

When your time on earth has reached the end, you will once again connect with your soul mates in the spiritual realms.

Matters will be discussed on all your learning’s on earth and your next adventures will be planned.

You are never alone in life or death, just the dynamics change as you progress in your own soul’s journey.

Blessings from Madam Jacqueline.

By Michelle O’Brien

People often ask when to smudge and how they should really go about this, so I have written down a few steps on how I go about it.

Smudging is common in a lot of cultures. Some cultures use different terms for this but smoke has been used by many in their ceremonies over thousands of years.  It is used as a way of offering up our prayer to the Creator – the smoke travels up high to the Creator.

It can be used to clear your property if the energy is low, if you are feeling low, if you buy an item and wish to cleanse it (you can clean anything this way).  You can clean your aura outline by smudging its outline.  I love doing this and always feel better for it.

Smudging can be used every day.

1) Always start with a prayer.

2) Ask the sage plant or whatever herb you are going to use if you can work with it.

The typical things used in smudging are listed below and represent the elements:

A shell to hold the smudge stick and catch ashes = Water
The herb/ sage = Earth
Smoke = Fire
Feather = Air

3) Start with an intention (what are you trying to achieve – example, do you wish to clear yourself?)

4) Remember if you remove something you are leaving room for something to come in.

5) So for example, if I wanted to smudge to clear my aura outline, I would set my intention as I wish to remove any negativity from my auratic field and replace with positive white light energy.

6) Once you light your smudge stick (usually sage or a mixture) blow it out so that it is left smoking.  Hold it over your shell so that hot ashes do not fall everywhere.

7) Use you feather to fan the smoke in the direction you wish it to go – you can say prayers while you are doing this or repeat your intention.  Typical feathers used are eagle feather but these are like gold dust to come by or you can use turkey feathers.  Really you can use any feather by asking to work with it but realistically it should be a little wide to help fan the smoke.  A budgie feather would be just too small for the job at hand

8) Always use a feather so that the negative energy does not re-attach to you.

9) Open the windows and doors too if you can and ventilate well so that all negative smoke is blown away.

10) You can smudge yourself or another person this way.

11) When you become more advanced you can also smudge remotely with strong intentions.

12) When you are finished smudging, fully extinguish your smudge stick so that it does not burn away.

I came across some writing more recently that stated that there is an actual scientific process behind smudging.  The air is filled with positive and negative ions.  Positive ions are not good; it just means they are positively charged, the same as in electrical items.  Well, negative energies like to attach to the positive ions in the air and so does the smoke from smudging.  So by ventilating your area well after smudging, you are releasing those positive ions which are not good for you.

Now isn’t that amazing, and many cultures have been using this ceremony for years without any scientific explanation behind it!!

Happy smudging – let me know if you have any questions.

Be very careful when using fire-based products.  Always make sure they are kept away from flammable items and that the smudge stick is well out before you leave it.

The seeds of time

by Ada McKay

This is a line from Shakespeare’s Macbeth.  When Macbeth and Banquo encounter the three witches, the witches tell Macbeth that he will become Thane of Cawdor and later King of Scotland.  Banquo then says to them that if they can indeed “look into the seeds of time” will they speak to him of future events?

If we were to know our future life, I wonder would it alter our present behaviour?  Macbeth is indeed given the title of Thane of Cawdor due to the treason of the present holder of the title.  This spurs him on to believe the remaining prophecy that he will become king and to fulfill this ambition he murders all those who stand in his path to the throne.  He does gain the throne but loses it at the end to the rightful heir.

How would we react if it was foretold for us that we would gain honours and riches?  Would we, like Macbeth, strive to make this happen or would we trust in God to let our lives unfold according to His will?  I believe that God has set out a path for each and every one of us and, if we deviate from this path and try to manipulate events we will in the end suffer the consequences as will those who assisted us.  Remember that Lady Macbeth lost her reason because she could not forget the part she played in the murder of King Duncan, and Macbeth himself paid the ultimate price for his villainy.

I for one do not want to know what lies ahead of me.  I believe ignorance is bliss.  We all worry about the future especially as we get older.  It is not the job of spiritualist mediums to tell enquirers what life is going to give to them.  Their job is to assure everyone that life is eternal and that there is no such thing as death.  They do this by channelling messages from our relatives in the next world.  However they do sometimes pass on helpful information received from the next world.

I have on occasion heard someone get a message telling them not to worry about a forthcoming hospital appointment and I have also heard people being told to get their car serviced or to do other repairs around the home.  One medium related a story of how he gave a message to a member of the audience about being careful descending steps.  At the end of the service the recipient walked out muttering about a load of rubbish, fell down the entrance steps to the hall and left in an ambulance!  So I don’t think we should seek to know the future but it does no harm to listen to helpful advice and not take foolish risks with the life God has given us.

If we don’t know what the future holds for us then we have hope in our hearts that everything will turn out fine. We can welcome a new job, a new home, a new experience with no misgivings.  Surely life would lose some of its adventure if we all knew what was going to happen and no way do we want to be told of sadness and grief lying in wait for us.

When the time comes for us to face some new challenge or venture and we worry about what lies ahead remember the words of the poem by Minnie Louise Haskins which was made famous when quoted by King George the sixth in his new year message to the nation: “Give me a light that I may travel safely into the unknown.”  The reply was: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That will be to you better than light and safer than a known way.”

The law of Karma

by Wendy Stokes

It is impossible to intelligently comment on William Roache’s interview on New Zealand TV unless the clip has been seen.  Roache’s TV interview:

Bill Roache has now apologised for his contentious comments about victims of sexual abuse bringing this offence upon themselves by pop stars in particular and how we should not judge the perpetrators but forgive them because they will get retribution in the afterlife due to the Law of Karma.

I find it extraordinary that Bill Roache made such remarks when he must know that Glen Hoddle lost his job for similar callous views about disabled people.

Karma is an ‘easy to dish out’ nonsense and many people who speak about the Law of Karma have not read the books where spurious doctrines, including this concept, originated 3000 years ago to defend an indefensible caste system which is still in operation today.  It’s a convenient bandwagon – ‘now I don’t need to fight for human rights issues, help anyone or give to the poor!’

Karma is a reward for all the good things the rich and famous did in previous lives.  Contrast this with not so lucky people who caused their own difficulties by evil deeds in past lives.  Karma is used to excuse abuse rather than create a responsible, caring and just attitude towards preventing gross cruelty and neglect.  Bill Roache needs to understand that the relief of suffering is life’s highest aim and laying a guilt trip on people who have had accidents, illness, abuse and other life traumas is unconscionable.

When others suffer, ‘Karmic’ proponents say it is nothing to do with them and everything to do with the victim’s actions in a previous life.  To this, we really have to say the word ‘nonsense’ because it clearly has no foundation in scientific fact.  Innocent victims should be clear that when someone hurts them or abuses them, that it is not their fault.  Psychopaths have no conscience and have many ways of excusing their lack of concern and kindness for others.

To suggest that everyone should forgive perpetrators is highly manipulative and exploitative.  Forgiveness, for many requires that the perpetrator admit their offence, take responsibility, make restitution, pledges not to act in this way again, etc.

Most Spiritualists do not believe in reincarnation; some do and I am one but in my work as a past life therapist I have never uncovered a tit for tat progression, such as Karma describes.  One would hope that the world is progressing in empathy, understanding, compassion and service, qualities which are not just the basis of spirituality, but the basis of humanity and justice, which are not upheld by this ‘Karmic law’.

Recently, I have two reports of premium rate psychic lines (£1.50 per minute) telling totally innocent people they are guilty of some awful misdeed in a past life and that is why they have significant health problems in this life.  Let me make this clear – bad things happen to good people – and good things happen to psychopaths!  That is why spiritual people seek to make the world a better place by caring and doing what is right and in everyone’s best interests, and why we have a justice system, courts of law, and prisons, and why people must be held accountable for their actions in this life.

Life is not the way it’s supposed to be.  It’s the way it is.  The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.  I sent an angel to watch over you last night, but it came back.  I asked: “Why?”  The angel said: “Angels don’t watch over angels!” God has seen you struggling with something.  God says it’s over.  A blessing is coming your way.

Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect. Remain close to the Great Spirit. Show great respect for your fellow beings. Work together for the benefit of all Mankind. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed.

Do what you know to be right. Look after the well being of mind and body. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good. Be truthful and honest at all times. Take full responsibility for your actions.

Great Spirit, give us hearts to understand; never to take from creation's beauty more than we give; never to destroy wantonly for the furtherance of greed; never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty; never to take from her what we cannot use.

Give us hearts to understand that to destroy earth's music is to create confusion; that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty; that to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench; that as we care for her she will care for us.

We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.

Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst, help us to find the way to refresh your lands.

Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and pollution, help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.

Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse, help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.

Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed, help us to find a way to replenish them.

Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption, help us to find the way to restore our humanity.
